Covergirl Lipstain!

One of the things I always sooooo look forward to if I am ever lucky enough to go to America, is the 'drugstore'. Before youtube, I might have not been entirely clear on this concept, yet the numerous haul videos posted have enlightened me to the fact, that this is in fact Boots/Superdrug but BIGGER.

After having kept a shopping list of everything I want to buy when I get there for a few weeks, the excitement kicks in, and I first head towards Covergirl (unavailable in the UK). My favourite product of theirs happens to be the Outlast Lipstain. A few years ago I had not tried these, but now I love them: lipstick for lazy people!!!

Although it tends to have a little drying effect (not just Covergirl, but most brands), I particularly like the red/raspberry tones, as they are much less high-maintenance than a lipstick equivalent and the shades still appear to be very vibrant on your lips. I tend to use them if I know I am going to be eating or drinking at the time and don't want to be worried if it's rubbing off. I have also noticed that they haven't really dried out, which is always nice.

Will definitely be using these for a long time to come - very satisfied!

Nail Strengthener mmmmm exciting :P

Possibly one of the most boring beauty products (sorry to all the fans out there!) is nail strengthener!Despite this, I felt it necessary to take a picture...

Although for me it's not the most exciting, I swear by this Avon Nail Experts Strong Results, as it does exactly what it says on the tin! In the evening, I often like to apply this when watching TV/on my laptop. It sinks straight into the nail and doesn't leave a coat of varnish, which may or may not be what you are looking for. I find it the most useful after I have worn nail varnish for a while and I start to notice that my nails have become dry and brittle. After I use it for a few days, my nails feel very soft (strange adjective for nails, but that's honestly how they feel!) and moisturised.

Any alternative suggestions?  Perhaps something that leaves your nails with a coat of transparent varnish?

First post - woop woop! My new hairdressing skill :0

So I thought I could start my very first blog post with a lifetime ambition of mine - I created my first French braid! It's something I have always been wanting to do,

It all started with a spur of the moment idea: I wanted something different for my hair and I thought a braid along my hairline would be just right for the occasion. Despite never having been able to do one in the past (it's so fiddly!), I just knew I would be able to this time...and I did!

I was so pleased with the result and wanted to try more - hence the Katniss braid! I don't know if it's actually called that, but I think that's how everyone remembers it, now The Hunger Games trilogy has made such an impact. I realise that she has a Dutch braid, but that's a task for another day. What do you think? Tell me if you like it in the comments :) I want to improve and get it a little neater, but for now I'm very happy with my new found talent!
